More on View

A successful test of VMware View was conducted. We now have a single connection server (piermont) and 3 Windows XP Pro VM's installed as Desktop clients (View Agent installed).

There were a few hitches with the initial test but these are just AD configuration items that will be resolved early next week.

After consulting a colleague, It was confirmed that the View connection servers (CB) are not multi-master, meaning that the 1st one installed is the primary and all additional CB's are replicas. The primary is the one that admins would log into and it contains the ADAM database with the View configuration, which obviates frequent backup to remote storage.

Also, a DNS alias and a hardware load balancer should be used ahead of the clients to ensure View connection availability and redundancy.
